Wielton has developed a new timber product, designed specifically to handle difficult forest conditions and unstable loads.
The R&D team at Wielton has been working on expanding its portfolio to include vehicles for transporting timber, focusing on durability, stability and manoeuvrability, creating Timber Master products. The range will include both semi-trailers and trailers.
The vehicles, which were developed in cooperation with Extendo Polska, include a S700 steel frame and KTL applied coatings. In addition, the range uses reinforced axles from well-known manufacturers (including SAF CD and BPW HD), a rear beam protecting the frame from damage and two rear hooks. The vehicle bodies are characterised by light stanchion mounting, and depending on the customer’s needs, various load securing systems are available.
“Timber transport vehicles, although at first glance they look simple in construction, in reality they are not,” said Wielton Sales Director for Replacement Systems and Bodies, Jacek Leńczuk. “The heavy and unstable load that is timber and difficult forest conditions require a comprehensive approach and durable, stable, safe and easy-to-use solutions. Thanks to the cooperation with Extendo Polska in developing the Timber Master series, we were able to get to know the specifics of this industry even better and create vehicles that meet all the requirements of this sector.”
ExTe elements are compatible with Timber Master vehicles by Wielton, and the standard equipment option includes aluminium seatposts. The optimised curb weight and construction supported by FEM calculations and proven and durable ExTe body elements will enable efficient transport of wood raw material even over long distances.
The Timber Master stanchion semi-trailer is distinguished by its solid, steel construction, ensuring high load-bearing capacity and resistance to difficult working conditions. A wide selection of body element configuration options guarantees the stability of the transported load. The semi-trailer is equipped with pneumatic suspension, which makes it easier to manoeuver and reduces shocks, while the metal floor is durable and resistant to damage. The shape of the front wall has been designed to prevent the load from catching and mechanical damage to the wood. The vehicle also features an easy-to-use, lifting rear bumper.
The Timber Trailer Master stanchion trailer is also equipped with advanced suspension systems that minimise shocks and improve ride comfort on uneven surfaces. Additionally, the design allows for flexible adjustment and securing of the load, which is crucial when transporting long and heavy materials. A solid, anti-corrosion floor and highly visible trailer lighting and markings increase transport safety, while the low centre of gravity has a positive effect on the vehicle’s stability during transport.
