Van Eck Trailers has strengthened its long-term partnership with Wattaul Air Cargo through a 13-unit trailer investment.
The latest order reinforces the established relationship between the Dutch trailer manufacturer and the European air-cargo feeder specialist, built on operational reliability, technical performance and a shared focus on efficiency and sustainability.
The fleet investment comprises a tailored mix of semi-trailers designed for airport-linked operations and high-value logistics, including seven plywood-box trailers for secure consolidated freight, four curtainsider trailers for mixed-cargo applications and two FNA-certified temperature-controlled trailers from Van Eck’s Eckspress Series.
According to Van Eck, the diverse configuration will provide Wattaul with increased operational flexibility across its European air-cargo feeder network, supporting services to major airport hubs where reliability and turnaround time are critical.
The Eckspress Series has been developed in close collaboration with air-cargo operators and is purpose-built for ground-handling efficiency. Key features include reinforced chassis and box construction for long-term durability, multiple upperstructure configurations including FNA, FRC and Pharma options, and compatibility with TAPA TRS-compliant security solutions for high-value and sensitive cargo.
The trailers are also equipped with Van Eck’s in-house developed Eck Rollerbed System, enabling fast and ergonomic pallet handling during loading and unloading. Additional safety and productivity features include integrated pallet stoppers, emergency braking systems, roller control units and optional working and roof lighting.
Van Eck said the continued collaboration reflects a shared commitment between both companies to innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth within the European air-cargo supply chain. For Wattaul, the investment supports fleet readiness and high utilisation in time-critical logistics operations.
Wattaul Air Cargo is a family-owned logistics provider specialising in air-cargo feeder services and time-sensitive transport across Europe, while Van Eck Trailers, founded in 1912, is recognised as a specialist manufacturer of purpose-built semi-trailers for the air-cargo, logistics and special transport sectors.
