USA Truck has undergone a strategic transition to private, Arkansas-based ownership, with the completion of its full sale by DSV to UTAC, LLC.
UTAC, LLC is a private entity based in Arkansas, resulting in USA Truck officially returning to ownership rooted in the state where its legacy began.
The company said the Arkansas-headquartered private ownership reinforces USA Truck’s identity as a US based carrier with deep regional roots, strong values, and a long-term commitment to customers, employees, and partners.
Founded in 1983, USA Truck operates across North America with 1,800 trucks, 6,000 trailers and an expansive logistics offering.
It manages nine Service Facilities and five Logistics Regional Centres, servicing customers ranging from Fortune 100 companies to regional family businesses.
Embracing the slogan “USA Truck: Back and Built to Last”, the company said it is affirming a dedication to operational excellence, fostering strong partnerships, and driving long-term, sustainable growth.
UTAC, LLC is owned by three principals with deep institutional knowledge of USA Truck and the transportation industry, ensuring continuity, stability, and disciplined growth.
Those three principals are:
- George Henry, who is the current and ongoing CEO, will remain actively engaged in the daily leadership of the business as CEO.
- Zachary King, the former USA Truck CFO, will support the transition of the business as acting CFO.
- James Reed, who is a former USA Truck CEO and is chairman of Kodiak Robotics & Loram and an operating partner of Banner Capital.
CEO of USA Truck CEO, George Henry, expressed his sincere gratitude to DSV for its engagement since the acquisition of DB Schenker and its unwavering support throughout this process.
“The extensive knowledge and global supply chain insights gained under two of the world’s leading freight forwarders are now a permanent part of our operational DNA,” said Henry.
“We are excited to have USA Truck return to US based ownership in the great state of Arkansas, where our legacy first laid out roots.
“We will continue the four-decade legacy built by our founder, a US Naval Aviator, now fortified by unparalleled global expertise and market solidification.
“To our phenomenal employees and customers, who have been steadfast partners throughout this journey, I am eternally indebted. Welcome home, USA Truck!”
USA Truck said the move to private ownership will enable it to operate with greater speed, flexibility and focus, prioritising customer relationships, service reliability, and disciplined growth.
The company remains financially strong and well-positioned to build upon its reputation as a trusted transportation partner, USA Truck said.
