Frozen food logistics provider Yearsley Logistics is growing its fleet with an order of 35 refrigerated trailers from German trailer giant Schmitz Cargobull.
The new tri-axle trailers are equipped with both Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration units and mark the latest order in Yearsley Logistics’ 20-year relationship with Schmitz Cargobull.
They will join a fleet of almost 400 trailers used to deliver frozen food to over 4,500 different locations across the UK.
According to Schmitz Cargobull, Yearsley Logistics chose the S.KO Cool reefer model for its durability, ease of maintenance and residual value. All trailers incorporate split internal cushion doors to allow the loading of a smaller number of pallets when required.
Will Maycock, Yearsley Logistics Head of Transport, commented, “We’ve found that Schmitz Cargobull provides a very strong offering in terms of cost of ownership – upfront price, operating costs and residual value – all elements that are very important to Yearsley Logistics.”
The trailers are built with three-phase electrical sockets, allowing the refrigeration units to be connected to an industrial power supply and kept running at any of Yearsley Logistics’ 13 sites without using diesel fuel.
