A new Head of Communications has been named for the Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division of ZF.
Effective 1 May 2025, Christopher Rimmele will assume the role.
He will report directly to Prof. Dr Peter Laier, whose responsibilities on the ZF Board of Management include the commercial vehicle business.
Rimmele, who previously headed the Communications function at ZF LIFETEC, will take over his new area of responsibility from Florian Laudan, who had continued to manage Commercial Vehicle Communications since becoming Head of ZF Group Communications in July 2024.
“I am very pleased that we have been able to appoint someone with strong communication skills and market experience to the position in the CVS division, who knows both the Group and the commercial vehicle industry very well and is also experienced in transformation,” said Prof. Dr Laier.
Rimmele has been responsible for communications at the former ZF Passive Safety Systems division since 2023 and most recently drove forward the branding of the current ZF LIFETEC company as part of a carve-out.
Rimmele started his career at PR!NT (Heye DDB) and navos (Jung von Matt), with a focus on technology and change communications, before joining the TII Group, where he was responsible for global press relations in the area of special vehicles and heavy transport.
He then moved to Mahle, where he was responsible for commercial vehicle topics and aftermarket communications as press spokesman for product and technology (OE).
In 2023, he moved to the ZF Passive Safety Systems division and developed the ZF LIFETEC brand as part of a carve-out, which he and his team have since, ZF said, successfully established on the market.
Earlier this year, Range Energy partnered with ZF to help drive the development and adoption of the Range eTrailer System within the North American commercial road transport industry.
