Representatives from Europe’s leading trailer manufacturers will participate at the DEKRA Future Congress Commercial Vehicles 2025, to be held in Berlin from 28-29 October.

Krone Trailer team members will showcase the evolution of trailer technology at the symposium, showing that efficiency is not only created in the drive system, but begins in the interaction of vehicle, data and system.

On 28 October, Krone Trailer Managing Director Sales & Marketing, Dr. Frank Albers, will talk in the session “Trailers and their potential” about how standards and networks meet and what is going on behind the scenes of trailers.

The session states that “In the struggle for greater efficiency and climate protection, the potential of the drawn unit should not be ignored. What has happened in terms of electrification, digitisation and automation and what is still to be expected.”

Krone’s Head of Telematics & Digital Services, Maximilian Birle, will participate in a session entitled “Why we need to rethink the trailer – and what is no longer the same afterwards”.

He will discuss how digital services and telematics are changing the world of transport in the long term.

They will be joined by other speakers, including:

  • Oliver Bange, TIP Group’s Central Region Managing Director.
  • Thor Bakker, Kögel Trailer Chief Sales Officer.
  • Jens Zeller, idem telematics GmbH Managing Director.
  • Dr. Stefan Wallmeier, JOST World Vice President Product Development.
  • Fredrik Seglö, BPW Bergische Achsen KG General Manager Trailer Solutions & Mobility Services.
  • Fabian Schlegel, ZF Group’s Senior Vice President and Head of EMEA Region, Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) Division.
  • Marnix Lannoije, Schmitz Cargobull AG’s Head of research & development (CTO).
  • Christoph Günter, SAF-HOLLAND Group’s President Europe, Middle East and Africa.

The DEKRA Future Congress is a leading event promoting a dialogue on safety, digitalisation and future viability in road freight transport, covering three subject areas: Commercial Vehicle Technology, Digitalisation and Logistics.

In the lecture strand on commercial vehicle technology, experts from the vehicle industry and industry professionals will exchange views on the latest developments in the areas of active safety, zero-emission drives and automated driving and present the benefits they offer for commercial fleets.

In addition to applications for battery-electric drives, this year’s programme focuses on hydrogen as an energy carrier for trucks, be it fuel cell systems or H2 combustion engines.

The topic of digitalisation at DEKRA focuses on the use of AI in transport and logistics. Participants will discuss how modern transport management systems can ensure the optimal deployment of the vehicle fleet and employees and how digital solutions can help to overcome the hurdles of everyday working life.

In the Logistics strand, participants will hear how the logistics of the future must be sustainable and economical, with the last mile taking centre stage.

Representatives from established vehicle manufacturers will be joined by new suppliers as alternative vehicle drivers and innovative vehicle concepts are discussed.
