Two industry heavyweights combined forces to create a potentially industry changing product, when SAF-Holland and Carrier Transicold presented their innovation at the Handelsblatt Annual Conference Commercial Vehicles 2025 on 6 May.
SAF-Holland President EMEA & CTO, Christoph Günter and Carrier Transicold’s President of International Truck & Trailer, Victor Calvo Alcala presented their joint development for electrification in trailer cooling – the SAF TRAKr axle.
The innovation is the result of intensive, collaborative development work between SAF-Holland and Carrier, where they analysed the current market challenges and developed a system that not only reduces CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption, but also significantly lowers total cost of ownership.
The parties partnered to combine their respective innovation and expertise and devise a game-changing product that will address the hot-button issues of increasing regulatory requirements, urban noise pollution and climate change.
