Founded in the southern Italy hill city of Matera, with origins stretching back to 1989, Daken S.p.A. has leveraged its industry expertise to become a leading international player in the production of plastic toolboxes and fire extinguisher cabinets for commercial vehicles.
Some 20 years later, in 2007, Daken’s success and steady growth saw it expand its headquarters to occupy a total area of 23,000 square metres.
In 2021, the company expanded its offering with the launch of the ZEN metal line, further pursuing a vision based on innovation, design, and maximum reliability.
Over its short history, Daken has consolidated its presence in more than 60 countries, with exports representing more than 90 per cent of its turnover.

Truck & Trailer Plastic Line
Daken’s plastic range for the truck and trailer segment includes toolboxes, fire extinguisher cabinets, and multipurpose containers.
Among its product families that have innovated the market in this category are the ‘Just’ and ‘Blackit’ ranges.
All products are manufactured using advanced injection moulding with hi-tech materials, such as polypropylene and nylon, ensuring resistance to hydrocarbons, external agents, UV rays, and extreme temperatures.
The true added value of Daken’s plastic toolboxes lies in their balance between lightness and strength.
For Daken, reduced weight does not mean fragility.
On the contrary, Daken’s engineers have developed a reinforced rib system on the toolbox body, a structural grid system on the lid, and a compression locking system making these toolboxes extremely robust, durable and highly sought after.
Today, the plastic line consists of 13 product families and more than 50 SKUs, covering a wide variety of sizes, configurations, and load capacities to meet the needs of industrial vehicles, light trailers, and logistics operators.
Some of its most popular product lines include the Arka 81205 and 81209 toolboxes, the Just 81105 and 81106 models and the SLIDEN fire extinguisher holder.
To ensure its product lines meet Daken’s strict quality controls, all products undergo rigorous in-house testing as well as trials in accredited external laboratories, guaranteeing consistent and certified quality.
In addition, Daken toolboxes are certified as side under-run protection devices for cyclists.
Daken goes metal
The ZEN Metal line is one of Daken’s largest product catalogues, including toolboxes, behind-cabin boxes, pallet boxes, hand pallet truck boxes, behind-cabin units, water tanks, and standard and custom accessories.
ZEN products offer a wide range of metal finishes, from aluminium to stainless steel, with a feature being Daken’s full control of the production chain – from raw material storage to final assembly. This ensures superior finishing, strength, and quality through Daken’s cutting-edge automated processes.
The ZEN line also stands out for its unique patented design, which has become one of the brand’s key differentiating features, with an entire ZEN line developed specifically for hand pallet trucks, including specifically designed toolboxes.
Daken Managing Director, Domenico Lorusso, said a large part of the company’s success is due to its customer being firmly positioned at the centre of its initiatives and strategies.

More than four years after its launch, the ZEN metal line has strengthened Daken’s position with its standard range and also with numerous special projects that demonstrate the company’s ability to innovate, customise, and meet requirements in terms of assembly, design, finishing, and functionality.
The number of these projects continues to grow each year; already exceeding 1,000 annually and reiterate that the ZEN range is a strategic area where Daken invests resources, expertise, and technology to remain at the forefront of the truck and trailer market.
Product certifications
As part of its continual growth, Daken has recently achieved two important certification milestones – the IATF 16949 certification, being an international automotive industry standard, and ISO 3834 certification relating to welding processes. These certifications add to Daken’s long-established certifications of ISO9001, 1400145001, confirming its commitment to quality, sustainability, and safety.

Daken’s expansion involves not only products and processes, but also a strong international footprint through its Daken Brazil and Daken North America subsidiaries, reinforcing its proximity to local customers and its global development.
