In partnership with TIP Group, Copenhagen-headquartered shipping company, Hecksher has added 15 new XL-certified curtainsider trailers to its fleet.
The curtainsiders have been purpose-built for Hecksher’s RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) shipping operations.
Hecksher has invested in a new fleet of modern trailers to meet the demand created by increased trade between Poland and the Nordic countries, one of Europe’s fastest-growing trade hubs.
The shipping company sees the additions to its fleet as boosting capacity and improving the flow of goods across key Northern European corridors.
The 15 trailers are now branded and in use, supporting customers moving goods between Poland, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
Hecksher was pleased to rely on TIP Group’s expertise in trailer solutions to augment its fleet capabilities.
“At TIP, we are proud to support Hecksher with a fleet of modern, high-performance trailers — designed to drive efficiency and operational excellence,” said TIP Group’s Country Manager Poland, Piotr Suwała.
Hecksher Poland Sp. z o.o Road Freight Director, Jakub Karabin, said: “This marks a key step in our development of intermodal transport through RoRo shipping operations.
“It enables smarter route planning, optimises drivers’ working hours, and improves their work-life balance – a strong response to the ongoing driver shortage.”
The curtainsider investment highlight a range of features for Hecksher, including:
RoRo readiness
These trailers are specifically designed and equipped for roll-on/roll-off ferry transport and will primarily operate on routes between Poland–Sweden, Poland–Finland and Poland-Norway.
This setup reduces reliance on long-haul trucking and enhances intermodal flexibility.
Lighter construction for greater efficiency
Built with aluminium floor planks and rims, the trailers help reduce total weight – supporting lower fuel use and emissions during operation.
Advanced telematics (TIP Insight)
Real-time tracking, route and speed monitoring, and data-driven insights contribute to greater visibility, safety, and performance management.
Enhanced safety and compliance
Features such as LED lighting and upgraded tarpaulins align with high industry standards for reliability, visibility, and lower energy consumption.
The investment follows Hecksher’s recent strategic expansion in Poland, where it has established a new office and warehouse facility.
Hecksher is one of the oldest still active shipping companies in the world.
Founded in Denmark in 1797, it has more than 220 years’ experience in the shipping industry.
It has offices in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Latvia.
