Texas-based heavy-duty component manufacturer, STEMCO, has been recognised for its commercial vehicle innovations with an award at the 2025 Automotive News PACE Awards.
STEMCO, an Enpro company and competing in the PACE Awards for the first time, won an award in the ‘Drivetrain and Suspension’ category for its innovative Auto-Torq axle fastener.
The axle fastener is designed to streamline wheel end installation without complex processes or specialty tools.
Auto-Torq securely applies the optimum clamp load on the bearings to minimise wear, while maximising service life.
As a result, technicians have more confidence in their installations while fleet managers are given peace of mind with their fleet performance.
“We’re honoured to be recognised with this award,” said STEMCO President, Chip Stuhr.
“It not only shows our commitment to innovation, but more importantly, our mission to make the roadways safer.
“With a streamlined product like Auto-Torq, we’re helping the industry achieve a new level of confidence and safety.”
The Auto-Torq system has gained popularity in the industry, with STEMCO previously providing Auto-Torq as a standard component on all Great Dane trailers.
STEMCO was one of 12 award recipients at the PACE ceremony in Detroit.
Founded in 1995 by Automotive News and Ernst & Young, the PACE Awards honour innovation, technological advancement and business performance in the automotive industry.
In other news, Heil Trailer Asia was awarded a US army contract.
