The trailer builder has unveiled a certified telematics system tailored for Turkish regulatory requirements.
Schmitz Cargobull is now offering its TrailerConnect telematics system in a version certified specifically for the Turkish market, giving transport companies operating in Türkiye or across its borders a fully approved solution for digital trailer fleet monitoring and control.
The company equips its trailer ranges with TrailerConnect as standard, with services tailored to different transport tasks and vehicle types. More than 305,000 telematics units have been sold globally. However, compliance with national regulations is essential. In Türkiye, this includes mandatory use of Turkish SIM cards and routing data through servers controlled by national authorities.
“With the country-specific adaptation of TrailerConnect, we guarantee the use of fully compliant and high-performance telematics for our customers in Türkiye,” said Schmitz Cargobull Head of Product Line Digital Services, Dr Cafer İnce.
“Compliance with BTK requirements gives transport companies the necessary assurance to efficiently manage their fleets with real-time data and reliably meet all legal requirements.”

Schmitz Cargobull Türkiye has expanded steadily since opening its Sakarya-Erenler plant in 2017 with Managing Director Kerem Taş noting continued investment and development: “Today, the plant is one of only two Schmitz Cargobull plants worldwide that produce Schmitz Cargobull axles. It is also the only plant manufacturing Schmitz Cargobull container chassis for markets worldwide.”
The company also emphasised its strong position in Türkiye’s refrigerated transport segment.
“Our S.CU transport refrigeration units are designed for all types of transport,” said Schmitz Cargobull Türkiye Head of Sales and Marketing.
“With over 38,000 units sold, we are underlining our strong position in temperature-controlled transport and the cold chain.
“According to TAID data, two out of every three refrigerated semi-trailers sold in Türkiye continue to be our brand, confirming our leading position.”
TrailerConnect captures and transmits real-time data including position, EBS information, tyre pressure, door status and temperature. This enables dispatchers to optimise utilisation, reduce empty runs and improve planning. Alerts and historical data support preventive maintenance, reducing downtime and increasing vehicle availability.
The system also enhances safety and sustainability. Route deviations or incidents trigger immediate alerts, while improved utilisation and tyre pressure monitoring help cut fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.
