Global logistics provider, Rhenus Group, has expanded its specialised warehousing footprint with the opening of a new Dangerous Goods (DG) warehouse in Bangkok.
Located in the Bangna Trad area near major ports and adjacent to the company’s existing KM19 facility, the 5,817-square-metre warehouse is designed to support customers handling both dangerous and non-dangerous cargo within a single integrated logistics site.
The facility has been developed in response to growing demand for specialised warehousing across Southeast Asia, driven by manufacturing expansion, e-commerce growth and increasing use of third-party logistics providers.
The warehouse will be opened in phases and features DG-compliant infrastructure including 90-minute fire-rated walls and doors, explosion-proof electrical systems and ventilation, plus specialised fire pumps and sprinkler systems.
Marcus Fornell, Regional Head of APAC Warehousing Solutions at Rhenus Group, said the investment supports manufacturers diversifying operations across Southeast Asia under China+1 strategies.
“As more manufacturing businesses increase capabilities in Southeast Asia, Rhenus is scaling up its presence in the region to support a broad range of storage requirements, from general warehousing through to specialised manufacturing needs,” said Fornell.
Established in Thailand in 1994, Rhenus operates 14 locations across Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Khon Kaen, serving sectors including automotive, industrial, chemicals, healthcare, retail and e-commerce.
