Australian publishing house Prime Creative Media has announced the acquisition of Diesel Magazine and Diesel News, formerly published by Sydney's Intermedia Group.
According to Managing Director, John Murphy, the latest addition to the Prime Creative stable will join leading transport titles Prime Mover, Trailer, Global Trailer and CRT News – making the Melbourne-based Group the “undisputed leader” in information and marketing platforms for Australia's commercial road transport industry.
Mr Murphy said the acquisition was an “important strategic move” for the Australian business to re-enforce its commitment to the local and global road transport community.
“Prime Creative Media has invested heavily in the industry’s best journalists and publishing resources to ensure we remain relevant and effective in a changing business landscape,” he said – revealing that former Diesel Editor, Steve Brooks, will join the CRT Australia team as a Feature Writer.
“We respect and value the contribution that Diesel and its staff have made to the industry, and we’ll continue to ensure that it delivers leading editorial and the highest production values well into the future,” Murphy said. “In fact, we will keep investing into the title and add additional resources where needed.”
Tim Giles, current Technical Writer at Prime Mover Magazine, will step up to become the new Editor of Diesel Magazine, supported by Brooks and well-known industry journalist Chris Smith as a regular contributor.

According to Murphy, it will be ‘business as usual’ for Diesel Magazine, with no plans for any major changes to what has become a valuable industry resource over the last 13 years. However, Prime Creative is committed to continuing to develop the Diesel brand well into the future.
“We take stewardship of the magazine at the top of its game and we have the current team and former publisher to thank for that,” he said. “The existing staff will join Prime Creative’s award-winning CRT team including Peter Armstrong, Sebastian Grote, Peter Shields, Tim Giles and Justin Orbien.
