US-based company, Lineage Logistics, has announced the acquisition of three warehouses in the Pacific Northwest.
The acquisition of Bellingham Cold Storage, on Washington state’s west coast, totals approximately 680,000 cubic metres and 85,000 pallet positions.
The deal includes Bellingham Cold Storage’s three centres of Bellingham Waterfront Warehouse Center, the Orchard/I-5 Warehouse Center and the Burlington Dry location.
As a result, Lineage will expand its network in the US Pacific Northwest region, which includes 40 facilities across Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
Additionally, its acquisition adds a strategic warehousing footprint for Lineage at the Port of Bellingham, known as a vital hub for seafood and agricultural products.
“We are pleased to welcome Bellingham Cold Storage into the Lineage family. This strategic acquisition positions us to better serve customers in the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” said President of North America West at Lineage, Brian Beattie.
“Bellingham has long been a cornerstone of the seafood and agriculture industries, and these facilities will allow us to offer additional supply chain solutions for our customers.”
Bellingham Cold Storage President and CEO, Doug Thomas, said: “Lineage has recognised BCS as one of the highest-quality cold chain providers in North America, both for the dynamic nature of our operations as well as our exceptional service.”
“I am confident they will be fantastic stewards of the business, maintaining our excellent track record of customer service and providing a welcoming home to our team members.
“On behalf of the BCS board and leadership team, I would like to express sincere gratitude to those who have contributed to our success over the past 79 years.
“Looking to the future, I look forward to seeing our combined teams continue to lead the way in employee and customer satisfaction in the cold chain.”
Brian Beattie noted the importance of Bellingham Cold Storage to the local community.
“We look forward to continuing that tradition and supporting the local economy,” said Beattie.
“Additionally, the Port of Bellingham is a valued and long-standing partner to BCS, and we’re committed to further building that relationship.
“Between the Port’s ongoing modernisation project and the fantastic, dedicated BCS team members who will join the Lineage team, we have many reasons to be excited about this acquisition.
“Lineage is better positioned than ever to be the premier cold chain partner in the Pacific Northwest.”
