Lineage Inc. has commenced expansions of its automated cold storage warehouse in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands.
The project is the latest initiative in Lineage’s longstanding collaboration with its customer, and Bergen op Zoom warehouse anchor, Lamb Weston.
The fully automated expansion will increase capacity by 40 per cent, bringing the facility’s total storage to more than 250,000 pallet positions.
With plans to be completed in 2026, Bergen op Zoom will become one of Lineage’s largest facilities globally.
Lineage is renowned as the world’s largest global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT.
The site’s expansion will support Lamb Weston’s long-term goals for growth and operational efficiency, as well as addressing increased customer demands in the region.
It will also enable other manufacturers to consolidate, store, and distribute products across the European region.
The warehouse expansion also incorporates advanced energy features, including BREEAM Excellent certification, rooftop solar panels, and on-site battery storage to extend the use of renewable energy and reduce environmental impact.
Bergen op Zoom is located with direct access to the major ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, as well as inland terminals.
It offers exceptional connectivity, providing producers and retailers with faster, more streamlined movement of goods throughout the Benelux region and beyond.

The expansion of Lineage’s Bergen op Zoom warehouse follows another recent expansion of Lineage’s cold storage facility in Vejle, Denmark.
The Vejle expansion adds 6,000 square meters to the facility and increases its total capacity to 93,500 EUR pallet positions.
These expansions highlight Lineage’s commitment to strategic growth in Europe and beyond.
Lineage manages more than 60 strategically positioned facilities across 10 European nations, providing an overall capacity of approximately 2.5 million pallet positions.
