Kuehne+Nagel has expanded its Spanish operations with the acquisition of Spanish road logistics provider TDN.
TDN (Transporte y Distribución Nacional), a well-established Spanish road logistics services provider headquartered in Madrid with more than 600 employees, handled more than one million shipments in 2024.
Its acquisition is seen as a strategic purchase that will strengthen Kuehne+Nagel’s European groupage network.
TDN has 45 terminals and a fleet of over 700 vehicles within its partner network.
It serves more than 200 daily routes linking all of Spain, as well as the Balearics, the Canaries and Portugal.
“TDN is a local champion with a comprehensive road groupage network in Spain,” said Kuehne+Nagel’s Executive Vice President for Road Logistics, Hansjörg Rodi.
“Combined with our existing network, we will be better equipped to serve our European customers with competitive lead times and an increased frequency of departures to and from the Iberian Peninsula.
“This aligns with our strategic growth initiatives and adds value to our existing business.”
TDN President, Susana Fernández Paradela said: “Both TDN and Kuehne+Nagel are strongly committed to entrepreneurship and service excellence, and our road freight networks are highly complementary.
“With this great cultural and operational fit, we look forward to serving our customer base with more comprehensive logistics solutions and create new opportunities for career growth for our colleagues.”
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of June 2025, and is subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval of the competent merger control authorities.
Upon completion, TDN will be fully integrated with Kuehne+Nagel and will be complementary to Kuehne+Nagel’s existing Road Logistics business.
