Krone Trailer UK has supplied a new consignment of its Mega Dry Liner trailers to event logistics specialist FCL, to meet demand in the live entertainment, sport, and exhibition sectors.
The trailer consignment, adding to a recent order, will support FCL’s expanding operations across the UK and mainland Europe, meeting FCL’s needs for reliability, payload efficiency and flexibility in transport.
Based in the UK, FCL operates a fleet of 45 trucks and 35 trailers, moving equipment for major sporting events, conferences, music tours, and exhibitions.
From staging and AV systems to lighting rigs and steel truss, the company is entrusted with transporting high-value, time-critical loads for some of the world’s largest live productions.
Krone has increasingly become the trailer of choice for FCL thanks to build quality and engineering strength.
FCL Operations Director, Martin Cowie, said: “In the events world, deadlines are unforgiving – if we don’t deliver, the show doesn’t go on.
“Krone gives us the confidence that our equipment will get there safely and on time, without unexpected downtime or repair headaches.”
Cowie said Krone’s attention to detail delivers practical benefits day to day – from its robust floors for heavy equipment, an extendable and stowable rear loading ramp, and the versatile load-locking system all contribute to safer and faster turnarounds.
He said such features make a significant difference for both drivers and operations teams working under tight schedules.
“Driver feedback has also been positive, with the load-locking system in particular helping to secure sensitive, high-value cargo with confidence,” he said.
“The reinforced floors and ease of loading are standout features, along with strong trailer security – all essential to our operations in the live events sector.”
FCL currently operates 17 Krone trailers – a mix of curtain-siders and Mega-Cubes – with further orders in the pipeline. While maintaining a mixed fleet, the company confirms that Krone now represents a growing share of its operation.
“Looking ahead, growth is firmly on the agenda,” said Cowie.
“Demand across live music, sport, and exhibitions remains buoyant, and we are planning further fleet and service expansion.
“Krone trailers will continue to underpin that growth, giving us the reliability, flexibility, and efficiency to scale without compromising customer expectations.”
The trailers will be deployed across FCL’s pan-European network, with routes ranging from London and Manchester to Paris, Barcelona, Berlin, and Monaco.
