Long-serving Managing Director Jens Zeller is set to retire at the end of August after nearly a decade leading idem telematics.
From 1 September 2026, Thomas Piller will assume sole responsibility for the management of the BPW Group company. He will be supported by the existing leadership team, including Heiko Boch, Head of Product Management, Dirk Maaßen, Head of Development and Operations, and Robin Schirmer, Head of Sales.
During Zeller’s tenure, idem telematics strengthened its value proposition, expanding its manufacturer-independent platform that connects freight, drivers and vehicles across multiple transport sectors to improve fleet efficiency and logistics performance.
Markus Schell, personally liable Managing Partner of BPW and Chairman of the Advisory Board of idem telematics, credited Zeller with helping establish the company as both a market and innovation leader.
“Jens Zeller has successfully managed the company’s business for almost a decade,” said Schell.
“Together with Thomas Piller, he has continuously expanded idem telematics’ position as a European market and innovation leader and has set an important course for the future with the early integration of the latest data and AI technologies into the product portfolio.”

Schell thanked Zeller for his contribution to the business and wished him well in his retirement, while expressing confidence in the incoming leadership team under Piller as idem telematics continues its growth strategy.
The management transition comes as the company continues to develop connected transport solutions that integrate vehicle, trailer, freight and driver data to improve operational efficiency for transport and logistics operators across Europe.
