European contract logistics specialist, ID Logistics, has announced its acquisition of Polish logistics company, Spedimex.
The purchase brings with it specialisation in the fashion and e-commerce sectors and it strengthens IDL’s footprint in Poland with 15 new locations.
IDL said the move was motivated by the close proximity of cultures and the similar business models the two companies share. Their complimentary customer portfolios and technical expertise will also help develop significant commercial synergies, in particular for leading international customers.
With the acquisition of Spedimex, the company becomes a market leader in Poland with a combined 35 sites and 7,000 employees.
“The founders and teams of Spedimex have developed real expertise, particularly in apparel and cosmetics logistics,” said Yann Belgy, Managing Director of ID Logistics Poland.
