The Australian Road Transport Suppliers’ Association (ARTSA) will release a complete overview of the nation’s trailer population at the Global Truck & Trailer Leaders Summit in April.
After years of research, ARTSA is now ready to present highly accurate data on both locally built and imported vehicles, as well as historic information dating back to the very first articulated trailers registered in Australia.
The presentation – exclusive to attendees of the Global Truck & Trailer Leaders Summit – will also include a full listing of all approved trailer designs in the country and detailed data on the country’s truck population.
To date, there has been no official statistic verifying the actual size and shape of the industry, making the ARTSA presentation on Day Two of the Summit a long-awaited world premiere. According to ARTSA Chairman, Dr Peter Hart, attendees will be able to witness history in the making.
“Up until now, there has been no comprehensive summary of truck and trailer data available for Australia,” he said. “ARTSA has been able to summarise registration data as well as trailer design approval data available from a range of sources. The results deliver some surprises, and will be useful for a range of organisations.”
According to Dr Hart, ARTSA will be releasing a summary of the revolutionary data series on a quarterly basis to show the current market growth. It will also be providing a data service where tailored reports will be available for purchase.
“Australia has been in the dark for too long in terms of the size of the trailer market, and we look forward to being able to present a regular summary overview of the current size and trends in this sector,” said Dr Hart. “For the first time in history, Summit attendees will be given accurate information on how many are being built in Australia and how many imports are currently on the road.”
The data will be shown for the first time at the Global Truck & Trailer Leaders Summit on 2 April in Melbourne, ahead of the International Truck, Trailer & Equipment Show.
