Auckland-based trailer builder, Fruehauf NZ, has announced the acquisition of Gecko Fibreglass Repairs from Glen O’Sullivan and Bryan Tracey.
Fruehauf NZ Managing Director, Jeff Mear, said this acquisition is an exciting enhancement to the company’s aftermarket support centres which will expand its services to include fibreglass truck and trailer repairs.
This move is also reported to reinforce the OEM’s aftermarket support for Schmitz Cargobull bodies.
Gecko Fibreglass, along with its existing staff, will continue operating from its Takanini site under the current management structure with Josh Mear supervising.
Fruehauf NZ plans to grow Gecko Fibreglass Repairs’ presence by introducing a small to medium truck body range, including fibreglass bodies and kitset curtainside truck bodies.
In other news, Toll Group has extended a partnership with BlueScope Steel for another seven years.
