European freight specialist Eurovision Logistics has taken delivery of four box van trailers from Schmitz Cargobull. The four trailers will be primarily used to transport high-value goods and replace trailers previously supplied on hire.
“Schmitz Cargobull’s patented bolted construction technique offers us added flexibility as we can make quick repairs in the event of trailer damage, which ultimately reduces downtime and keeps our fleet looking pristine. It removes the need for costly welding or paint repairs; it’s literally one part in, one part out,” said Dominic Yeardley, Managing Director of Eurovision Logistics.
Eurovision Logistics specified the box vans for load security, along with Ferroplast steel skinned side panels providing for all-round protection. A reinforced rear door-locking mechanism adds a further safeguard against unauthorised entry, backed by satellite tracking which is standard across the fleet.
In addition, the trailers will be joined by another nine sliding roof curtain-siders. The move completes Eurovision’s move to a Schmitz Cargobull-only fleet. The German company supplied its first trailers to European Road Freight in March 2003, which later merged with IJ Blakey Haulage to form Eurovision Logistics in December 2007.
Like the box vans, the nine sliding roof curtain-sider trailers are built for maximum load security, with anti-vandalism curtains incorporating a mesh frame to protect them against intentional cutting. The tarpaulin sliding roof system maximises internal trailer height, for added load carrying flexibility, whilst also enabling loading through the roof.
