Ireland-founded, ATC Computer Transport & Logistics (part of Arvato), has partnered with Trailer Dynamics and PNO to deploy one of Europe’s first leased e-Trailers.
The collaboration is pioneering green logistics and is a major step toward a sustainable transport network.
Earlier this year ATC (part of Arvato) was among the first logistics providers in Europe to trial a Trailer Dynamics e-Trailer in its battery-electric long-haul series.
It followed this up, earlier in December, when it became one of the first companies in Europe to receive a limited pre-series e-Trailer, available for rent through PNO and Trailer Dynamics.
The new e-Trailer will run across multiple European lanes alongside HVO100-powered engines, battery-electric tractors, and soon, hydrogen and fuel-cell tech.
ATC’s long-term goal is to help its hyper-scaler data centre clients decarbonise their on-road supply chains, a tough challenge over long distances.
By pairing BEV tractor units with e-Trailers has made this goal possible.
Leased via PNO Germany, ATC (part of Arvato) will benefit from PNO’s digital services and customer-focused support.
ATC’s Head of Green Logistics, Rainer Hoerbst, saw the potential for e-Trailers early.
“In real-world trials in using the e-Trailer of Trailer Dynamics, we cut fuel use by up to 40 per cent and nearly doubled BEV range,” he said.
“Imagine what this means for hydrogen. We are delighted to be working with Trailer Dynamics and PNO to equip ATC (part of Arvato) as one of the first customers in Europe with a leased e-Trailer from Trailer Dynamics.”
