German multinational, Deutsche Post AG (DHL Group) has bought US-based retail distribution logistics provider, IDS Fulfillment.
The acquisition has been completed by DHL Supply Chain, the North American contract logistics arm of the DHL Group, and is part of DHL’s broader ‘Strategy 2030’ agenda.
IDS, based in Plainfield Indiana, has been operating for more than 60 years, providing flexible logistics fulfilment solutions to assist brands’ growth.
It commands more than 120,774 square metres of warehouse and distribution space in Indianapolis, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, and at its Indiana headquarters.
The acquisition, which marks DHL’s second e-commerce acquisition in 2025, will combine IDS’s existing fulfilment strengths with DHL’s global scale, advanced technology, and industry expertise.
DHL will continue to operate all IDS facilities under the existing local leadership to ensure a seamless transition for customers and associates.
“We believe that DHL’s commitment to innovation and service excellence makes them the ideal partner to enhance our operations and deliver industry-leading capabilities to our customers and team members,” said IDS Fulfillment CEO, Mark DeFabis.
DHL Supply Chain North America CEO, Patrick Kelleher said: “e-commerce has been a growth driver for DHL in recent years and is an important focus in our Strategy 2030 agenda.
“The acquisition of IDS Fulfillment not only expands our operational footprint but also ensures small and midsized companies have access to our state-of-the-art logistics solutions designed for their specific requirements.”
As part of the DHL global brand, IDS will continue with its mission of helping small and midsize brands scale with confidence.
