Danish freight services provider, DFDS, enjoyed a highly successful participation at the Cold Chain Climate Summit 2025 on 20 March 2025.
In its third year, the event, hosted by the Cold Chain Federation at Warwick University UK, brought together industry leaders in temperature-controlled logistics to discuss the future of sustainable logistics, with particular focus on the themes of emissions reduction, climate resilience and climate leadership.
DFDS was presented with three sustainability awards at the event:
- Cold Chain Transport Operator of the Year 2025
- Business Climate Initiative
- Cold Chain Climate Champion (under 35): UK team member Esther Kabiito
In the last year, DFDS has reached a major milestone in sustainable refrigerated transport by boosting its UK fleet with electric refrigerated trailers and electric HGVs.
The summit heard from DFDS’s Decarbonisation Projects Team Lead, Lidija Peters, who delivered a keynote address on the company’s green strategies, focusing on its road pathway to net zero.
Delegates also gained insights on emerging decarbonisation technologies in the UK, including electric trucks, Sunswap trailers, as well as efficiency gains through solar panels by DFDS partner Green Energy Group on diesel trucks and trailers.
