DB Schenker has announced its first foray into the battery metals mining industry.
Earlier this month DB Schenker was awarded a contract to provide comprehensive project construction freight forwarding and logistics services to Albemarle’s Kemerton Lithium Expansion Project (KEP) in Western Australia.
The engineering contractor will be Hatch Australia.
The Kemerton plant is located approximately 150 kilometres south of Perth, Western Australia. It is located near the Port of Bunbury and close to one of the world’s largest hard rock lithium deposits the Greenbushes mine.
The work will be supported by the DB Schenker Project Control Tower office located in Perth, in conjunction with our global network of Project offices that are specialised and accustomed to the unique logistics service requirements of the industry.
