Monthly trailer sales in Brazil climbed sharply in March.
The truck trailer industry recorded strong monthly growth, with 12,211 units sold in March compared to 9,870 in February, marking a 23.7 per cent increase.
“The positive effects of the current harvest and the Move Brasil program are evident in our results,” said ANFIR President, José Carlos Spricigo.
“The program’s renewal will be an important support when demand from agribusiness cools down, as this is a seasonal phenomenon.”
Performance gains were recorded across key segments. The trailer and semi-trailer category reached 6,390 units in March, up from 5,007 units in February, representing a 27.5 per cent increase.
The body-on-frame segment also improved, with 5,821 units sold in March compared to 4,863 in the previous month, a rise of 19.5 per cent.
Despite the strong monthly result, quarterly figures indicate a softer overall market. Total truck trailer sales for the first quarter reached 30,841 units, down 13.68 per cent from 35,728 units in the same period in 2025.
“To understand this decline, it’s important to remember that the market in the first quarter of last year still felt the positive effects of sales made at Fenatran 2024,” said Spricigo.
“Starting in the second quarter, we will be able to visualise market movements without this influence.”
Segment-level data reflects a similar trend. The trailer and semi-trailer segment declined 14.61 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter, with 15,732 units sold compared to 18,423 in the same period last year.
The body-on-frame segment fell 12.69 per cent, with 15,109 units sold in the first three months of 2026 versus 17,305 units a year earlier.
In other news, this acquisition will strengthen Schmitz Cargobull’s lightweight trailer expertise.
