What trailer builders need to know about BPW’s latest advances in AI, intelligent axle and running gear solutions.
The BPW Group will be showcasing its portfolio of products at Bauma, 7-13 April in Munich, Germany.
Expect to see advanced swing axle technology for demanding applications on display.
The ‘7t swing axle’ is reported to reliably manoeuvre vehicles across difficult terrain and features optimised weight ratio for installation.
Meanwhile, a 30-tonne swing axle unit, the AGRO Robust, is designed for dump trucks in construction and mining. Optional steerability, according to BPW, allows for additional design options for OEMs to create custom solutions.
Active Reverse Control (ARC), an electro-hydraulic auxiliary, enables low loaders with two self-steering axles to be even more manoeuvrable. It enables precise vehicle movements backwards and forwards without requiring a mechanical forced steering system.
BPW also has AI-supported running gear functions to optimise the transport process such as iC Plus. The system determines axle loads, monitors tyre pressure and leverages AI to provide early feedback about braking performance and the status of the brake pads.
Couple this AI innovation with cargofleet 3 telematics and heavy vehicle operators can manage upcoming maintenance deadlines and increase efficiencies with the entire transport process.
Lighting technology will also be on show via BPW’s subsidiary, Ermax, with its new generation of LED rear lights which display the logo of vehicle manufacturers as a characteristic light signature.
“With our Bauma innovations, we are supporting trailer manufacturers in meeting the challenges of the construction and transport industry – from cost-efficiency and sustainability to digitalisation,” said BPW Director of Sales Customised Solutions, Peter Lindner.
“In this way, we are particularly helping medium-sized special vehicle manufacturers to actively shape the future of transport.”
