Having arrived in the burgeoning city of Dubai more than 30 years ago and looking for a completely new start with his commerce degree, Adel Mir knows what it’s like to be given a chance to succeed.

That is why, since joining NAZ Industries in 2021, he has maintained a strong focus on the people in the business.

“Our rapid growth is built on three fundamental pillars, which we call the 3P s – Pricing, Planning, and People,” said CEO, Adel Mir.

“Our success stems from getting these elements right — maintaining accurate pricing and costing, implementing robust planning and budgeting, and most importantly, investing in our people, the true driving force of the company.”

Combined with hard work and dedication, Adel Mir has seen NAZ Industries grow to become a $100 million-plus entity (€85.5 million), employing 427 professionals, including engineers, designers, technicians, welders, and skilled workers.

“They form the backbone of our operations,” said Adel Mir.

“Our team’s collective expertise and commitment are the key drivers behind our reputation for quality and reliability.”

Mir proudly shares the company’s intention to increase its workforce to 670 members as it seeks to multiply its long-term production targets.

The CEO is also grateful for the support of the UAE, which saw the genesis of the trailer builder, growing from the MAMMUT brand that was formed in 1996, to where it stands today – one of the few trailers manufacturers in the region that produces over 60 different industry products.

Mir attributes this early success to two traits often associated with the UAE – speed and flexibility.

“We have quick turnarounds in design and production which gives us the strength to tailor-make products and body solutions to meet diverse industry needs,” he said.

“As a result, we have a proven record of building robust trailers suitable for tough regional conditions, such as heat, terrain and heavy loads.

This has resulted in NAZ Industries being recognised with a 2024 industry award as one of the best truck body builders in the region.

With the legacy of the MAMMUT trailer brand, the team at NAZ Industries has excelled in the competitive trailer market due to a belief that its products should stand as a symbol of safety, durability, and reliability.

“Our philosophy is simple – build with integrity, innovate with purpose, and always put the customer first,” said Mir.

He added that, as a result, the company is deeply committed to its mantra of ‘Engineered for Excellence, Built to Last’ for every trailer and truck body.

Broad approach

In addition to trailers, NAZ Industries produces a wide range of truck-mounted bodies, including tippers, tankers, and aerial/crane platforms, enabling the company to cater to multiple industries, such as construction, logistics, oil & gas, and food & beverage.

This diversified approach to products and partners creates a sturdy foundation for the company to weather any ongoing geopolitical and economic developments, Mir said.

“Our long-term vision remains firmly set on scaling production to 12,000 units annually, and we continue to make steady progress toward that goal,” he said.

Currently, NAZ Industries manufactures more than 350 trailer and body-mounted products each month, equating to about 4,200 per annum – from flatbeds, tippers, and low-beds to fuel tankers, bulkers, refrigerated trailers, and specialised equipment.

It now manufactures more than 60 types of standard and specialised products for use in the GCC, MENA and beyond.

The broad-brush approach to products has also been implemented with NAZ’s global sourcing strategy, ensure the highest quality, durability, and cost-efficiency in its products.

Components, such as axles, suspensions, braking systems, rims and hydraulics are sourced from leading international suppliers in Europe, while steel and structural materials are procured both locally and regionally to maintain agility and cost competitiveness.

As a result, its portfolio of suppliers is a who’s who of the commercial transport world, ranging from SAF Holland, Fuwa and BPW for axles, to Knorr Bremse and Wabco brakes, Jost, Trilex, Bridgestone tires, Longmarch, Moro and Gorman pumps and Aspöck lighting.

“By combining trusted global brands with reliable regional suppliers, we ensure that every NAZ trailer meets international standards of performance, safety, and reliability,” said Adel Mir.

“This synergy allows us to deliver trailers that are durable, reliable, and innovative.”

The result is a burgeoning database of clients from a wide cross-section of industries that rely on safe and efficient transport solutions.

These cover construction companies, logistics providers, oil & gas and energy operators, waste management firms, and food & beverage distributors across the region. The customers include large fleet operators, government entities, and specialised businesses requiring tailor-made trailer and truck body solutions.

“What sets our relationships apart is the long-term trust we build — many of our clients return to us because of our consistent quality, reliability, and ability to deliver products that meet their exact operational needs,” said Mir.

While maintaining strong links to its 30-year foundational base of the UAE, seen as its strongest and most important market, NAZ Industries has expanded its client list to encompass the whole of the GCC and beyond the Gulf region to include the broader MENA region, as well as western and East Africa.

“Leveraging Dubai’s strategic position as a global logistics hub, we are also extending our footprint into Asia and other emerging markets,” said Mir.

To accommodate its growing international market, NAZ has adopted a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) strategy, whereby trailers are shipped in parts and assembled in the destination country.

This reduces shipping costs and enables the company to establish localised production partnerships, ensuring faster delivery and stronger service support.

NAZ Industries’ client-focused approach has paid off handsomely, with customers ecstatic with the finished product.

A highlight has been its partnership with SKA Global, where that client confirmed the trailers stood up exceptionally well to various challenges, while a delivery of custom-made NAZ Tippers mounted on Daewoo Trucks in collaboration with United Diesel, were lauded for being built precisely to the client’s requirements.

The company also takes immense pride in supplying 103 units of 45-tonne multipurpose cargo trailers for transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza.

 Big space

To accommodate the growing demand for NAZ trailers, the company’s manufacturing facility is based in a roughly 30,000 square metre space in a section of the Dubai Investment Park, housing state-of-the-art production lines, fabrication areas, assembly bays, and quality testing units.

As part of its vision to increase annual production capacity towards 12,000 units, the company is planning to expand the current facilities with increased floor space and more advanced manufacturing technology.

In addition, NAZ Industries has another 40,000 square metre plot in Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone Authority under construction.

Exponential growth

NAZ Industries has experienced a growth rate of over 70 per cent in recent years, reflecting its expanding product portfolio and increasing demand across the GCC and Middle East markets.

With 2024 revenue of approximately $106 million (€91 million), the company has continued to sustain strong momentum throughout 2025, with an estimated growth rate of about 15 per cent.

This growth is fuelled by the introduction of new trailer models, expansion into additional regional markets, and operational efficiencies gained through strategic partnerships.

“This financial stability allows us to continue investing in advanced manufacturing technologies, expanding our production capacity, and developing innovative solutions for our clients,” said Adel Mir.

The company has significantly strengthened its production capabilities by investing in new sophisticated equipment & machinery, expanded its product portfolio by adding special purpose trailers for the energy sector, and entered new markets, such as Jordan, Syria and Senegal.

It has also introduced new specialised trailer models and body-mounted products tailored to meet the road regulations for countries such as Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

Adel Mir said the company’s success has not been by chance, but due to a concerted and holistic approach to all elements of the business, including quality products, proper planning, strong partnerships and investing in people.

“Overall, NAZ today is stronger, more agile, and more future-ready than ever before,” he said.

The result is the company being recognised as the Best Body Builder in the Region in 2024, by CPI media and being certified as a Great Place to Work with an employee approval rating of 95 per cent.

Like Dubai and the UAE, the company has no plans to slow down in the coming five to ten years.

Adel Mir said the strategy is to consolidate NAZ Industries as one of the leading trailer and truck body manufacturers in the Middle East and Africa, with a growing footprint into Asia, consistently achieving 12,000 units annually.

“KSA and Iraq are the two countries that we want to present directly in the market, and we plan to build production facilities in addition to our expansion plans in UAE,” he said.

“We also aim to drive product innovation, with a strong emphasis on sustainability — introducing lighter, more fuel-efficient trailers, and preparing for the future of electric and alternative-fuel transport solutions.”

Mir said that digitisation and smart technologies will play a central role in its future operations, ensuring efficiency, traceability, and enhanced customer value.

Its long-term vision is to position NAZ as a global brand from Dubai, recognised for quality, reliability, and innovation.

There is also the aim to grow its market footprint in the GCC and MENA regions and maintaining its long-term agreement with a reputable steel structure manufacturing company that supplies trailer chassis as per Naz’s own designs.

“These developments will enable us to meet growing demand while maintaining the high standards of quality and reliability that define NAZ Industries,” said Mir.

“Ultimately, our goal is to expand NAZ Industries not just in size, but also in innovation, reliability, and global reach.”

One aspect of the trailer market the company is taking advantage of is trade shows and exhibitions, having featured in a number of international events across the Middle East.

These platforms afford the company the opportunity to showcase its latest trailer and truck body solutions.

“The outcomes were very positive. We generated strong leads across the GCC and Africa, established new strategic partnerships, and strengthened our visibility as a leading trailer manufacturer in the region,” said Mir.

“We plan to continue exhibiting at major regional and international events as part of our long-term growth strategy.”

Markets & Trends

With the cargo trailers and semi-trailer markets for the Middle East projected to reach 615,000 units by 2035, with a value of $11.9 billion USD (€10.2 billion), and increased construction and infrastructure activities, NAZ Industries is well-placed to service the growing markets of Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

“The rapid growth of the Middle East, particularly in the UAE and KSA, has had a significant influence on our strategy,” said Mir.

“Rising demand for high-quality trailers and truck bodies has prompted us to expand our production capacity, diversify our product portfolio, and introduce specialised models to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

“We have also strengthened strategic partnerships and optimised our operations to ensure faster turnaround times without compromising on quality.

“This dynamic market environment encourages us to stay innovative, responsive, and future-ready, ensuring that NAZ continues to lead as a trusted partner in the region.”

The company is also eyeing expansion into the Africa market, which it sees as a strategic represents growth sector.

“With many countries across the continent investing heavily in infrastructure, logistics, and industrial development, the demand for reliable and durable transport solutions continues to rise,” said Mir.

NAZ Industries has maintained a presence in Africa since the early 2000s, establishing a solid footprint in key regions, particularly in East and West Africa.

It has supplied more than 1,000 trailers to markets such as Sudan, Yemen, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

“Our (future) focus is on providing solutions that strike the right balance between quality, longevity, and cost-efficiency, enabling us to support the continent’s rapid development and the evolving needs of its transport and logistics sector,” said Mir.

Other markets, such as east Asia, Europe, and North America are not on the company’s immediate radar, mainly due to high logistics and shipping costs of exporting fully assembled trailers. However, Mir said there was strong potential for future partnerships with localised, in-country investors, so as to ship products in CKD condition for local assembly.

“We are actively studying these opportunities to expand our global reach in a sustainable way,” he said.

For now, NAZ Industries sees its best opportunities in the growth of trailer demand across the GCC, Middle East, and Africa, due to expanding infrastructure, construction, oil & gas, and energy sectors that are driving strong demand for specialised and customised trailers.

However, it also pays to be attuned to industry and global trends, including a focus on sustainability.

NAZ is finding customers are seeking lighter, more fuel-efficient designs and growing interest in electric and alternative-fuel solutions.

It also sees digitalisation growing in demand as fleet operators increasingly demand trailers equipped with telematics, tracking systems, and smart safety features to improve efficiency and compliance.

NAZ is already addressing another growing trend in its production facility – that of specialised or customised trailers for specific industries, such as the oil & gas, and energy sectors.

There is also growing competition from low-cost manufacturers, fluctuations in raw material prices, regulatory requirement and the ongoing geopolitical status in the Middle East as variables impacting the trailer market.

“These are all present hurdles that we must navigate carefully, however, by focusing on quality, reliability, and strategic partnerships, we are well-positioned to turn these challenges into opportunities and continue our growth trajectory,” said Mir.

Innovations

At NAZ Industries, innovation is at the core of its operations, incorporating simulation-based engineering to transform the design and testing of trailers.

“By digitally validating durability and safety before production, we’re able to deliver stronger, safer, and more efficient products,” said Adel Mir.

As a result, it has a dedicated R&D division focused on materials engineering, regulatory compliance, and performance validation.

With more than 60 different products in the market, the company must have R&D to build what their clients need, Mir said.

“Our customers operate in high-stakes industries; from oil & gas to heavy logistics, where safety, efficiency, and compliance are non-negotiable,” he said.

“Innovation allows us to reduce operating costs, extend product life, and align with sustainability goals. It also helps us stay ahead of regulatory shifts and market needs.”

Recent innovative projects include re-engineered trailers that underwent both Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and extensive real-world trials, as well as the development of NAZ’s mobile brake testing innovation.

The company’s R&D division also integrates safety engineering and ensures all processes align with international standards, embedding quality, sustainability, and operator safety into every design.

Some of its latest innovations that combine advanced engineering with customer-driven problem-solving, include:

  • A mobile brake testing unit developed entirely in-house, which eliminates the need for vehicles to be transported to the test station in traffic control department.
  • MSS trailers for heavy-duty power transmission, supporting national energy infrastructure.
  • Re-engineered 23 CBM Tippers and 30T Flatbeds, redesigned for Saudi Arabia’s new road regulations, with improved aerodynamics, higher payload capacity, and reduced carbon impact.
  • 20 multifunctional water tankers designed and manufactured for firefighting, ordered by the Municipality of Iraq.

Of particular pride to the company is its 52 cubic metre Cement Bulker semi-trailer, which Mir said stands as a benchmark in bulk material transport.

“It is engineered with advanced safety systems, high-strength materials, and unique design elements tailored to the demanding conditions of the Middle East,” he said.

“While our broader portfolio includes tipper trailers, flatbeds, and lowbeds, this Cement Bulker demonstrates our commitment to combining performance, safety, and efficiency in highly specialised transport equipment.”

The unit is equipped with five 11-tonne axles, featuring a combination of auto-lift and steerable axles, an uncommon and valuable feature in the Middle East market, ensuring superior manoeuvrability and optimised tire wear.

The bulker incorporates an advanced Electronic Braking System with Rollover Stability Program, reducing the risk of accidents during transport and safeguarding both the cargo and road users.

“Together, these features position the Cement Bulker as a highly reliable, safe, and efficient solution for bulk material logistics, reinforcing our engineering expertise and commitment to setting new benchmarks in trailer design,” said Mir.

Sustainability

With its pioneering approach to engineering-driven innovation for trailers and heavy equipment, NAZ Industries has also wholeheartedly embraced sustainability in its operations.

This is in response to customers and regulators, who are increasingly demanding lower-carbon solutions.

Its raft of sustainability measures includes replacing sandblasting with greener surface-prep technologies; using energy-compliant machinery to reduce power consumption; replacing diesel operating equipment with electric engine operating equipment; deploying ISO-based monitoring systems that track carbon footprint against production metrics, such as steel tonnage and energy use; and transforming a waste and spare parts yard into a green space surrounding the company’s facility.

“What sets us apart is our ability to handle highly customised projects where precision and durability are critical,” said Mir.

“The greater the customisation, the higher the performance and operational smoothness our equipment delivers.

“We combine financial strength, global partnerships, and advanced planning to deliver exceptional value.

“This is why NAZ trailers and equipment are consistently recognised for their durability and long-term reliability.”

With its trajectory mapped and its future assured, Adel Mir can reflect on the hallmarks that have made the company what it is today.

“NAZ is more than a manufacturer; we are a partner in progress,” he said.

“Every product we design is aimed at making our customers more efficient, sustainable, and future-ready.

“Our growth journey is rooted in engineering excellence, but it’s also powered by people, our employees, partners, and clients who trust us to deliver at the highest standard.”
