Kässbohrer makes delivery for intermodal logistics

Dutch logistics company, Bergwerff Transport Service, has received ten Kässbohrer curtainsiders, specially designed for its intermodal transport requirements.

The trailers  — huckepack curtainsiders K.SCS M  —  will be put into operation, via rail to Italy. Bergwerff specialises in groupage, FTL, air cargo, pharmaceuticals and high value goods transport, with monitoring between Netherlands and Italy.

With TAPA 1-2-3 certifications, Bergwerff invests in lower emission trucks and when the time came to invest in the efficiency of its intermodal operations, Bergwerff chose Kässbohrer as its partner.

“We have been in transport business between Netherlands and Italy for over 40 years,” said Bergwerff Operations & Security Manager, Kevin Bergwerff. ” We accept our customer’s requests as our challenge and when our customer demanded more efficiency and less CO₂ emissions for their tire transportation needs we said yes. To guarantee the speed and quality of the intermodal operation we chose Kässbohrer’s robust, tyre transport certified and fast operating huckepack curtainsiders.”

Kässbohrer engineered its K.SCS M as a curtainside mega semi-trailer to optimise the just-in-time delivery challenges. Its chassis is suitable for every road condition and protected against corrosion with its KTL coating.  Its intermodal configuration, with train loading brackets, increases overall efficiency and is the perfect choice for eco-conscious fleets.

Meanwhile, its special XLS curtains provide EN 12642 XL certification, without the need to install side planks between the middle pillars, offering easy access to the load.

“We at Kässbohrer are committed to sustainability, and meeting the unique transformation needs of industry, with intermodal transport being a major component in this transformation,” said Head of Key Accounts, Mehmet Önen. “Kässbohrer has the unrivalled intermodal product range with its award-winning container chassis and award-winning swap bodies.”
