45 years strong: Hyva

Global transport solution provider, Hyva, is celebrating its 45th anniversary and is marking the occasion with an innovative showcase of future-driven solutions at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, Germany.

Marking its 45th year in the transportation industry, Hyva is celebrating the best way possible – by presenting a range innovative and comprehensive solutions and products to visitors at the IAA Transportation expo.

Hyva is a global provider of transport solutions for the commercial vehicle and environmental service industries. The company is committed to the development, production, marketing and distribution of solutions used in hydraulic loading and unloading systems on trucks and trailers.

Its products are used worldwide across a range of sectors including transport, construction, mining, material handling and environmental services providers.

Hyva produces the strongest front end hydraulic telescopic cylinder in the world. Its portfolio comprises: Hydraulics (cylinders, tipping gear and wet kits), Container Handling Systems (hook and skip loaders)), Cranes (fixed and rolling) and Waste Handling Equipment, as well as complementary transport solutions such as fifth wheels, drawbar couplings, horizontal loading/unloading floors and cover systems.

Here is what visitors can expect at the Hyva stand at IAA Transportation 2024.

Digital tipping solutions: as part of its mission to enhance road and job site safety and efficiency, Hyva will present this comprehensive solution featuring the DTS Guide System. It includes an onboard unit for front-end tippers and a cloud platform for fleet managers, offering actionable insights to improve safety and productivity. The DTS Guide empowers drivers through technology, making tipping efficient, safe, and easy, and giving valuable insights to fleet managers to make informed decisions.

ePowerbox50: the new side-mounted part of Hyva’s electric PTO (ePTO) range, is designed for use with battery electric trucks. This product maximises hydraulic energy efficiency and minimises operational noise.

e-PTO controller: this independent product ensures seamless communication between hydraulic equipment and battery electric trucks. It optimises the energy usage of PTO systems (gearbox or mechanical ePTO), offers easy setup and provides insightful analytics.

Drawbar couplings and fifth wheels: Hyva’s drawbar couplings are designed for durability, safety, ease of use and low replacement costs, with a smart, compact design that minimises ground collision risks. Its range of fifth wheels are the lightest on the market, reducing vehicle weight and increasing load capacity.

Front-end and underbody cylinders: this extensive range is suitable for heavy, medium and light applications. Renowned for their strength, durability and reliability, Hyva cylinders perform exceptionally in all conditions.

The Wetkit 2.0: this will feature a side mount tank, hydraulic cross beam and fifth wheel, all with a new modular and compact design that simplifies installation and saves space, and will be on display along with the DA-T Horizontal range, which includes double-acting telescopic cylinders for horizontal applications.

Titan range of Hookloaders: this range will be represented by the T18-47-S Titan Hookloader, which is faster, safer and environmentally friendly. It features a hydraulic container combi lock along with a mechanical adjustable pick-up hook, ensuring compatibility with nearly every continental European container for enhanced performance.

Cranes range: Hyva will feature the HC183X, an 18tm mid-size crane from its EDGE Line. Ideal for construction and logistics applications requiring a reliable and efficient product. It is packed with innovations and offers a wide range of adapable accessories. The crane on display comes with four hydraulic extensions, its most advanced CE control system, a 7-inch display, and radio control.

Past, present and future

Over the past 45 years, 2023 stands out as a pivotal year in Hyva’s history with a restructuring of its business model, from five existing lines of business into three new business units. The aim was to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and accelerate growth in a dynamic market landscape. The new Business Units are: Components (combining Tipping Solutions & Transport and Logistic Components) and Recycling (combining Container Handling & Waste Handling Solutions) and cranes.

Meanwhile, Hyva’s entrepreneurial spirit and culture of innovation drive ongoing research, development and implementation of smart and sustainable digital and electric solutions to address efficiency, productivity, safety and environmental challenges. A significant achievement was the production of its three-millionth hydraulic cylinder, highlighting its commitment to quality and innovation.

Today, Hyva is a customer-focused, multicultural company with a collaborative culture and passionate employees, dedicated to excellence.

“Reaching our 45th anniversary is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and innovative spirit of our team,” said Hyva Group CEO, Alex Tan. “From our early beginnings in Alphen aan den Rijn, to becoming a multinational business with a global network, we have always prioritised customer focus and innovation. As we look to the future, these core values will continue to guide us in delivering excellence and driving forward into new horizons.”
