UK-based trailer manufacturer, Tiger Trailers, will split a recent 139-strong trailer order into batches, with the final delivery schedule to coincide with the “Black Friday” retail period before Christmas.
The first batch, ordered by Evri, the UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, is currently nearing completion, with the remainder ready to transport what is expected to be close to three million parcels within the holiday shopping period.
Branded in Evri’s special 50th anniversary livery, there is also a slightly differently Evri logo on 25 of the vehicles.
“We’re delighted with the new trailers, they look great and are helping us celebrate our heritage and 50 years of courier deliveries,” said Evri’s Head of Fleet, David Landy. “We have a great relationship with Tiger and they have been superb in meeting our unique needs for the new trailers.”
At four metres in height and manufactured to Evri’s unique requirements, the new trailers have been designed and manufactured with operational robustness and longevity in mind and include a galvanised rear frame with integrated rear buffers.
Operator safety is increased through details such as the full-length stutter door strap enabling closure from ground level, to mitigate any potential strain injuries, and a retractable tail-lift from Dhollandia with P-gates aids loading and unloading. Yellow side infills increase safety for cyclists, and Haldex’s GEN-4 braking system along with its TEM (Trailer Emergency Module) Safe Parking valve heighten safety during yard operation and driving on the road.
“It’s fantastic that we are continuing to strengthen the relationship with the Evri team,” said Tiger Trailers’ Sales Director, Darren Holland. “At each enquiry stage we go through the same process of evaluation of the existing fleet to ensure that the final trailer design is perfect for the Evri operation.”
Joining the 200 trailers supplied in 2015 and the 189 trailers added in 2022, this latest order from Evri takes the operator’s Tiger Trailers fleet total to more than the 525 mark.
