Knorr-Bremse reinforces Commercial Vehicle Systems leadership

The Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse has extended the contract of Bernd Spies, Member of the Executive Board, for another five years from March 2025.

Spies was appointed to the Knorr-Bremse Executive Board in 2022 and bears global responsibility for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division.

“During his time in office, Bernd Spies has very successfully developed Knorr-Bremse’s global commercial vehicle business thanks to his exceptional strategic vision and outstanding relationships with customers,” said Dr Reinhard Ploss, Knorr-Bremse Supervisory Board Chair.

“At a time of profound transformation in the commercial vehicle industry, characterised by enormous challenges worldwide, Bernd Spies has put the Commercial Vehicle Systems division in an excellent position for future success.

“We look forward to continuing our work together and building on his many years of international experience and expertise going forward.”

Marc Llistosella, CEO of Knorr-Bremse, said by extending Spies’ contract the Supervisory Board has prioritised continuity of the Executive Board team.

“Bernd Spies has already made a major contribution to the successful development of our company and of the Commercial Vehicle Systems division,” he said.

“The entire Executive Board is delighted that Bernd Spies will continue his work as a trusted member of our team.”

Spies said: “I would like to thank Knorr-Bremse’s Supervisory Board for their confidence in me, and look forward to working together with the Executive Board team and indeed, the entire Knorr-Bremse team, as we continue our successful efforts to build our company’s long-term future.”

In other news, zero emission heavy vehicles are expected to benefit from a rapid fall in costs for batteries and fuel cells.
