Lineage breaks ground in Denmark

Lineage has announced that it will expand its Vejle facility in Denmark to support the demands of its customers and strengthen its Nordic network.

The temperature controlled logistics company said the location of the facility is ideal for importing and exporting products cross-border, serves as a large hub for Danish retailers and provides access to major ports in the region, such as Aarhus and Hamburg.

Lineage’s expansion of the frozen food facility is expected to include 10,000 EUR pallet spaces to help cater for requirements of existing customers. The existing Campus Vejle facility offers blast freezing add case picking.

“The groundbreaking of our Vejle expansion marks Lineage’s continued efforts to support our customers’ global supply chains,” said President of Lineage Europe, Harld Peters.

Lineage entered the Nordic region of Europe in 2020 with the acquisition of a large cold storage facility located in the Avedøre Holme industrial area. Currently, Lineage operates a network of  temperature-controlled logistics facilities across Denmark and Norway.

“We recognise the significant concentration of frozen food products moving into and out of the region,” said Regional Vice President Nordic Region, Carsten Wolf. “The expansion of our Vejle facility is expected to help allow us to effectively address the needs of our customers, extending not only to retailers but also to food producers and suppliers who seek proximity to their end customers.”
