Metro Supply Chain concludes strategic purchase

Canadian company, Metro Supply Chain, has completed its SCI Group acquisition, adding 3,000 employees to its team.

Together, Metro Supply Chain and SCI, a Canadian third-party logistics company, now manage close to two million sqms of space, operating out of more than 175 sites across North America and the United Kingdom. The acquisition bolsters Metro Supply Chain’s e-commerce offering and opens up in-demand vertical sector capabilities such as technology and healthcare.

“I would like to personally welcome the entire SCI team to the Group,” said Metro Supply Chain President and CEO, Chris Fenton. “This is an exciting time for both companies and I am thrilled to be able to bring to the market our combined 80 years of deep supply chain expertise and shared dedication to helping our customers grow.”

The expanded workforce of 9,000 employees includes dedicated engineering, IT and project management teams. Culturally, Metro Supply Chain said, the two organisations are a strong fit, each with long histories of creating a positive impact on people and the planet.
