Gebrüder Weiss announces next acquisition

Gebruder Weiss

International logistics company, Gebrüder Weiss, has taken over amm logistics, consolidating its position and strengthening its land transport network in Southern Germany.

“We are closing a geographic gap in Bavaria with the Konradsreuth location, offering our customers a wide network of locations from Upper Bavaria to Upper Franconia,” said Managing Director Land Transport Germany at Gebrüder Weiss, Werner Dettenthaler. “We are glad to contribute another location to the network, thus offering our partners and customers even more stability for their transports.”

This move follows the company’s recent acquisition of Wedlich logistics company in Northern Bavaria. This region is an important industry location and an ideal transshipment point for land transports between Eastern Europe and Southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The 180 employees at amm logistics will be retained and the company will begin operating under the Gebrüder Weiss brand. The activities of the amm forwarding company in the Nuremberg region will not be affected by this acquisition.

In other company news, Gebrüder Weiss has responded to the increasing trade volume between the United States and Mexico with a new facility in Laredo, Texas.
