Logista purchases additional shares in El Mosca

Spanish logistics operator, Logista, has increased its stake in Transportes El Mosca by 13.33 per cent.

Logista acquired 60 per cent of the company in 2022 as part of a gradual increase in stakes, up to 100 per cent over three years.

El Mosca is a Spanish logistics company specialising in multimodal transportation, providing national and international land, sea and air freight services. It manages a fleet of more than 1,000 vehicles and has 1,100 employees distributed among its 12 premises, both in Spain and abroad.

Logista said this acquisition strategy will strengthen the company’s position in the national and international transportation sector for the food and pharmaceutical industries, making it the second operation in the full-load controlled-temperature sector in Spain.

El Mosca’s operations are highly specialised in terms of handling both dry goods and also controlled-temperature, frozen, controlled-atmosphere and hazardous goods, for both full and consolidated cargo.

“Increasing our stake in Transportes El Mosca represents another step in our diversification and growth strategy,” said Logista CEO, Íñigo Meirás.

“With this operation we continue to consolidate Logista’s position in temperature-controlled transportation and complements our existing capacities in value-added services for our clients.”

In other news, July’s preliminary net trailer orders in the US increased sequentially, but lower against longer-term comparisons.
