Family transport businesses join forces

Rhenus Logistics.

Rhenus Overland Transport has acquired a 5.0 per cent share in French transport company, MTA Group.

The move follows a long-standing relationship between the two companies, which Rhenus said was due in part to their common values, which includes long-term business perspective.

MTA Group is a fifty-year-old transport company specialising in industrial freight distribution with a network of 26 agencies across France and more than 650 trucks and trailers.

“With this agreement, we want to optimise our domestic network and bring more solutions to our customers,” said Thomas Leclercq, Managing Director Rhenus Freight Logistics France.

The partnership between Rhenus and the MTA Group, the companies said, is a way to strengthen the joint know-how in ADR, chemicals, special packaging solutions and digitisation.

In other news, more than 75,000 visitors from more than 120 countries attended this year’s Transport Logistic event in Munich to see innovation in transport across all modes.
