SDK Freja announces record financial performance

Danish transport and logistics company, SDK Freja, attributes being customer-focused in a volatile market as the reason for its strong end-of-financial-year results.

The company reported a revenue of 6.6 billion DKK , an EBIT of 331 million DKK – an increase of 25 per cent compared to the previous year.

As a year that was marked by fluctuating energy prices, rising inflation and interest rates, SDK Freja said an ability to adapt was key. In recent years, the company has expanded its portfolio and now consists of three business areas – shipping, logistics and environment & recycling.

“Each of our three business areas have impressively demonstrated adaptability and strong competitiveness in an unpredictable market,” said SDK Freja CEO, Søren Gran Hansen.

“Our employees have once again proven their strong capabilities and flexibility and have further ensured that we can continue to offer customers the best solutions and services.”

Throughout the year, the company has continued to strengthen the organisation and business platform by investing in IT and digitalisation among other initiatives, which has contributed to strengthening its position.

Looking at the future, SDK Freja expects a normalisation of the shipping and logistics market following rising interest rates and inflation, which has led to less construction and private consumption.

“Organic growth as well as growth through mergers and acquisitions remain strategically important to us,” said Hansen.

“It is therefore a cornerstone in the development of SDK Freja to continue to be aggressive on the acquisition front and be on the lookout for new opportunities ahead.”
