DSV donates transport equipment to Ukraine war effort

DSV donates transport equipment to support Ukraine war effort.

Danish transport and logistics company, DSV, is donating 3.5 million DKK worth of transport equipment to Ukraine’s armed forces, with the first delivery made at the end of May.

The donation, offered to the 15th and 21st brigades, includes buses, trucks and trailers, as well as additional transport equipment, and will be used for the mobilisation of troops and supplies.

“I’m deeply moved by the resilience of the people of Ukraine as they go through this difficult time,” said DSV Group CEO, Jens Bjørn Andersen.

“Our local branches have developed several initiatives to support Ukraine with donations of goods and services, and I’m grateful that we can continue to show our support for the country.”

DSV’s donation follows a dialogue between Andersen and Mykhailo Vydoinyk, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark, who shared a list of the army’s specific needs.

After the invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, DSV was among the first Danish companies to exit Russia. In Ukraine, DSV resumed its operations in May 2022 after a temporary pause, and has since been fully operating.

In other news, DSV reported an 11 per cent decline in gross profit for the first quarter of 2023 but is expecting global trade volumes to improve in the coming quarters.
