XPO Logistics announces new COO

XPO Logistics Dave Bates

US-based company, XPO Logistics, has announced the appointment of Dave Bates as its new COO, effective immediately.

XPO is one of the largest providers of asset-based less-than-truckload (LTL) in North America, with proprietary technology that moves goods efficiently through its network.

Bates joins XPO from 27 years with Old Dominion Freight Line, where he was responsible for all day-to-day operations in North America for the last 12 years in his role as Senior Vice President, Operations.

He also has experience with roles at Carolina Freight Carriers and Roadway Express.

“We’re excited to announce that Dave Bates – one of the best operators in the LTL industry – is joining XPO as chief operating officer,” XPO Logistics said in a statement.

XPO CEO, Mario Harik, was pleased to welcome Bates on board.

“Dave is a high-impact executive with a strong track record of driving excellence in all aspects of LTL operations,” he said.

“We’re delighted that he’ll be leading our operations in creating ongoing value for our customers and investors.”

In other news, US-based OEM, Great Dane, has recognised its Miami service centre for seven years without a safety incident.
