Logista bolsters cold chain operations

Southern Europe based logistics operator, Logista, has acquired 100 per cent of the refrigerated and frozen foods transport and logistics activity from Spanish logistics company, Grupo Carbó Collbatallé.

The agreement reached contemplates the acquisition of 100 per cent of the share capital of Grupo Carbó Collbatallé for €51 million, with the closing of the transaction expected to occur during the first days of October 2022.

With this acquisition, Logista reinforces its customer services offering by incorporating complementary capabilities in controlled temperature, fundamentally in the frozen range.

Grupo Carbó Collbatallé has a network of 14 logistics platforms in Spain which add up to approximately 45,000 square metres with 210,000 cubic metres of bi-temperature chambers – allowing storage of 25,000 frozen and/or refrigerated EUR pallets.

Logista CEO, Íñigo Meirás, was pleased to announce the acquisition.

“This acquisition is part of the inorganic growth strategy communicated to the market,” he said.

“This transaction contributes to strengthening our position within controlled temperature transport in Spain, complementing our current capacities, extending them with the frozen range for the food sector.

“The integration of a company that shares with Logista the vocation of customer service through the development of customised solutions and excellence in operations represents an opportunity for growth and value creation for our shareholders.”
