JB Hunt names new President

North American supply chain solutions provider, JB Hunt Transport Services, has announced the appointment of its new President, Shelley Simpson.

Over her 28-year career at JB Hunt, Simpson has served 15 years in executive leadership roles, most recently as COO and Executive Vice President of People and Human Resources – in addition to leading International Services and Corporate Marketing.

Company CEO, John Roberts, said Simpson’s leadership has always given the company positive results.

“Over her tenure at J.B. Hunt, Shelley has worn multiple hats across our business, bringing a data-driven, experienced-based approach to every area she has led,” he said.

“If you look at the most disruptive areas of our company, from new technologies to global commercialisation to investments in our people, Shelley’s innovative leadership has always guided us toward positive results.”

Simpson said it was a pleasure to lead the company through its 60th anniversary.

“As I take on this new role, I remain committed to empowering our people to continue to disrupt, adapt and accelerate and fiercely focused on driving value for our customers, with financial discipline and dedication to our mission to create the most efficient transportation network in North America,” she said.

Simpson’s new role will be effective from 1 August 2022.

In other news, Brazil-based OEM, Randon, is investing $40 million to acquire a US-based trailer manufacturer.
