Transport and logistics company, Kuehne + Nagel, is opening a fourth warehouse in Ireland to support the healthcare sector.
The temperature-controlled facility is aiming to meet the growing demands of the country’s thriving healthcare industry, and will expand Kuehne+Nagel’s healthcare footprint in Ireland to 40,000 square metres.
The new HPRA-approved facility has been optimised for all storage, distribution and quality activities. It uses energy-efficient equipment to maintain the warehouse at a controlled temperature between 15-25 degrees Celsius, and will house 34,000 Euro-pallet positions with segregated loading and unloading gates.
The site is scheduled to open later this month, and is strategically located near the Dublin airport and Dublin port.
Kuehne + Nagel Ireland Managing Director, Pamela Quinn, said the new facility will allow the company to continue its commitment as a healthcare logistics leader in Ireland.
“Pharma & Healthcare companies in Ireland are at the forefront of the research and development of advanced treatments and therapies,” she said.
“This new facility enables Kuehne + Nagel to support the incredible progress and we are proud to be the partners for some of the largest multinationals and companies within this industry.”
Kuehne + Nagel said the warehouse will support long-term collaborative partnerships with major players in the industry, allowing them to focus on core production and research and development activities.
