CEVA Logistics partners with Volkswagen

Transport and logistics company, CEVA Logistics, has signed a three-year contract with Volkswagen Group (VW).

The contract builds on CEVA Logistics’ existing global relationship with VW where it will connect critical supply chain elements in transmission production for VW’s global product line at the Córdoba Industrial Center in Argentina.

The CEVA team in Argentina will manage inbound logistics, direct the parts warehousing, control inventory line processes and part picks, and supply the parts to their point of use on the production line.

CEVA has extensive experience with VW’s operations, as it supports the group with logistics services at sites in Brazil, China, Germany and the UK.

CEVA Senior Vice President, Fabio Mendunekas, said the company’s relationship with VW from Brazil operations led to the expansion.

“Their trust in CEVA with this contract is testament to our expertise and our range of automotive logistics solutions,” he said.

“Our long-standing relationship with and operational excellence for VW in Brazil supported their decision to expand our operations to Argentina.

“Our team is delighted to support this manufacturing facility with responsive logistics—all to help connect people around the world with their new VW.”

The Argentina plant manufactures transmissions for a range of well-known models, including the Polo, Polo Vivo, T-Cross, Taigo and Ibiza.

In other news, a new 14,000-square-metre facility will reportedly allow CEVA Logistics to keep pace with demand while remain flexible for future capacity needs in the Asia Pacific region.
