Global freight forwarder, Dimerco, has achieved international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for its environmental management and occupational health and safety management systems in its China subsidiary.
ISO 14001 helps organisations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, while ISO 45001 is the world’s first international standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) which provides a framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks and enhance the health and wellbeing of workers.
Dimerco’s Central Service Centre (CSC) said the achievement was a clear indication of its commitment to requirements.
“Sustainability and responsible operations are important priorities for Dimerco and for our customers, who expect us to meet the highest standards,” Dimerco said in a statement.
“We are working to continually improve our environmental credentials, and the achievement of international standards ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is independent verification of our compliance with current and future statutory and regulatory requirements.
Dimerco has developed innovative Business Intelligence Technology (BIT) mobile applications to support a paperless and ‘greener’ working environment, and has implemented various sustainability programs on recycling, water conservation and energy saving.
“By embracing sustainable practices, we can better deliver benefits to our customers and to our employees, while improving efficiency, increasing productivity and reducing cost.
“We are proud to have been recognised as a leader in setting ‘green’ standards in the industry.”
In other news, a business turned to Dimerco to deliver Covid-19 self-test kits from Hong Kong as soon as possible.
