ID Logistics expands to Italy

ID Logistics has announced that it is setting up operations in Italy, opening a logistics platform in Case Gerola – between Milan and Genoa.

The new logistics platform will complete ID Logistics’ coverage of continental Europe, as they now offer a global solution to all its major international customers.

The new site has been in operation since 1 June, 2022, and has been managing non-sortable products on behalf of an international e-commerce player.

ID Logistics President, Eric Hémar, said the new subsidiary is an indication of the company’s success in supporting its major customers.

“This new geographical location is a success for ID Logistics and demonstrates our ability to support our major customers in their development throughout Europe,” he said.

“It also provides a solid foundation for our continued growth in a high-potential market.

“Italy is now the 18th country we operate in today. Our desire is to quickly become a key player in the country.”

The entry into the Italian market is a part of the company strategy – its objective to become a global and flexible partner at the service of key accounts on the European market. According IG Logistics, they now cover more than 80 per cent of the continental European market, making them one of the region’s leading contract logistics companies.

Strategically located near the A7 (Milan/Genoa) and A21 (Turin/Brescia) motorways, their site is directly connected to the main capitals of north-west Italy.

With a surface area of 62,900 square metres and a capacity of 54,000 cubic metres, it is able to receive up to 55,000 units per day and ship up to 60,000 units – serving more than 80 different locations.

The facility is certified LEED Platinum (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), one of the most demanding certifications in terms of reducing negative environmental impact, and is equipped with solar panels and green walls which promote biodiversity and limit the warming of the building and offset the CO2 emissions generated by the facility.
