FREJA commits to Schmitz Cargobull telematics

Danish transport company, FREJA Transport & Logistics, has been a major customer of Schmitz Cargobull’s own trailer telematics from the very beginning.

Reliable vehicles and high-quality transport – that’s what the transport and logistics company FREJA relies on. The company from Skive, Denmark, has relied on trailers and services from Schmitz Cargobull for almost two decades. Another milestone anniversary was celebrated about two years ago: The trailerConnect telematics system from Schmitz Cargobull has been in use at the Danish transport company for exactly 10 years.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, representatives from FREJA and the Schmitz Cargobull subsidiary Cargobull Telematics have only just met in Münster to officially celebrate the anniversary.

Both the S.KO box semi-trailers and all S.CS curtainsider semi-trailers and S.KO 25 dry freight boxes from FREJA are equipped with TrailerConnect trailer telematics.

In addition to position information, the trailer telematics offer intelligent networking and rapid diagnosis of all trailer components, as well as safe, integrated temperature management in the refrigerated vehicles. With the telematics system, processes can be optimised and transport safety increased.

More than 2,000 trailers in the fleet currently have TrailerConnect trailer telematics which ensure reliable transparency and process optimisation.

“We were among the very first customers to equip their vehicles with trailer telematics from Schmitz Cargobull,” said FREJA Transport & Logistics Group CFO, Lars Bakkegaard.

“In close cooperation with the product experts from Schmitz Cargobull, we were able to define the individual configurations that are important to us. With the telematics application, our fleet can be planned even better and CO2 emissions can be reduced by avoiding empty runs.”

The Danish fleet mainly comprises Schmitz Cargobull vehicles. More than 75 per cent of these are S.CS curtainsider semi-trailers, but there are also S.KO box semi-trailers for temperature-controlled goods.

With the many Schmitz Cargobull vehicles that are on the road for FREJA on the roads of Europe, including clothing, pharmaceutical products and general cargo, reliable trailer service is essential. Here, too, FREJA relies on full service contracts from Schmitz Cargobull.

“A broad service partner network and fast, uncomplicated processing are very important to us,” said Bakkegaard.

“This increases vehicle availability and saves costs.”

The full-service package at FREJA includes the tyre and trailer service. This means that the transport company is not only reliably secured in Denmark, but throughout Europe.

FREJA Transport & Logistics offers dedicated transport, logistics, warehousing solutions in Europe and around the world, including tailor-made and personal service and guaranteed quality. The company has been privately owned since it was founded in 1985 and is one of Northern Europe’s leading logistics companies with branches in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland and China.

In other news, Schmitz Cargobull offers its own Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for smart trailers.
