Equipment specialist, JOST, aims to install solar PV systems on its production plants in a bid to minimise its environmental impact.
The business is considering its options via a feasibility study however the first site has successfully closed its contract.
“Portugal will be the first JOST plant to be equipped with a solar power system in April,” JOST said in a statement.
“Due to the high solar radiation in Portugal, the plant will reduce JOST’s power consumption from the public grid by a total of 31 per cent. This results in an annual saving of 196 tonnes of carbon dioxide.”
In other news, JOST’s push-button trailer coupling system, KKS, won the Innovation Award at the Tip-Ex Tank-Ex show in Harrogate, UK.
