Romac Logistics expands fleet with Tiger curtainsiders

UK-based refrigerated transport fleet, Romac Logistics, has taken delivery of 10 new curtainsiders from Tiger Trailers.

The acquisition brings Romac Logistics’ vehicle portfolio close to 400 trailers and more than 200 prime movers.

The new Tiger trailers are 13.7m-long units and feature 3.1m side apertures and digital print liveries.

“With our combined industry experience of over 100 years, our senior leadership team are familiar with Tiger’s innovative approach and strong brand, which fit in with our own values, so we’re very pleased that our research led us to choose them for our new curtainsided trailers,” said Romac Logistics Managing Director, Rob McAdoo.

“Tiger delivered on time and to high standards.

“Our thanks goes to Darren and the team for enabling us to serve an ever widening and diverse customer base.”

Tiger Trailers’ tri-axle curtainsided straight-frame builds for Romac Logistics are manufactured to EN 12642 XL standards and incorporate non-slip plywood floors with an over-beam design suited to the haulage of paper. Their pillarless clearspan roofs provide enhanced levels of light, comfort and safety for the trailers’ operatives, while delivering the strength and durability.

The safety of nearby road users, pedestrians and in particular cyclists is of paramount importance to this rapidly-expanding operator, and Romac Logistics is among the first of Tiger Trailers’ customers to specify flashing ‘No cyclist’ warning screens to the rear of their trailers.

“It has been a pleasure working alongside the Romac team to ensure that the trailers are to the best suited specification for them to deliver to their customer base,” said Tiger Trailers Sales Director, Darren Holland.

“As a customer they reflect Tiger’s own passionate outlook, appetite for expansion and keenness to deliver and we look forward to working closely with Romac over the coming months in support of their further growth.”

Operating alongside its reefers and rigids, the ten new curtainsiders have entered duty on routes serving the firm’s customers from its UK-wide sites ranging from Yorkshire and the Midlands to the south west and south coast.

In other news, Spanish OEM, Lecitrailer, is consolidating its presence in the UK market as part of its ongoing partnership and distribution arrangement with Tiger Trailers.
